We started planting Orchard Paddock last Autumn when we put the apple, pear and plum trees in. This weekend we have added to the crops we will get from this area.
The idea of Orchard Paddock is for it to provide us with fruit - both tree born and soft fruits. A lot of the varieties that we are familiar with are not available or suitable to grow in Sweden, so we are having to start our knowledge from ground zero. We've planted out red currants, black currants, gooseberries (red and green), tayberries, blackberries, Japanese Wine Berry, with the rhubarb (yeah, we know, technically it's a vegetable) and raspberries to go out very very shortly. |
