The Brewed Liquor and making bokashi bran

The bokashi was set up two weeks ago and put in its "yoghurt maker" to ferment. The liquor was ready last weekend, but we didn't have the time to get sorted, as we didn't have all the resources for stage two.

This is what we did next.

In Sweden there are several local breeds of hens of native origin. These peasant breeds are all characterized by a large variation in colour, with wild type and black, grey or white mottled being rather common. Their physical appearance also varies, with crested or tufted heads and thinly feathered legs occasionally occurring. The breed types though are rather homogenous with a robust brawny body.

We've made some efforts to reduce our energy consumption compared to the UK, and as we're in the winter - when usage will be highest - I'm pleasantly surprised how it's going so far...

Tuesday is shrove Tuesday, otherwise known as pancake day in the UK. Here in Sweden they have a different altogether more naughty treat for that day - Semlor! A very light bun, marzipan, cream, what more could you want? And unlike pancakes, you eat them every Tuesday till Easter...

We've been trying out to make them in our kitchen.
